Rest In Peace, Michael Jackson! (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009)

(Picture extracted from news yahoo)

It is really hard to believe that the king of pop, Michael Jackson is dead. Michael Jackson's death age at 50 was reportedly from cardiac arrest at Los Angelas. He was pronounced dead after he arrived LA hospital. He was already unresponsive on the way to hospital. Michael is suppose to play 50 sell-out shows at London's O2 Arena starting in July, but Michael had already postponed the first few nights' shows amid claims he was suffering health problems.

Earlier this year, He was seen visiting doctors three times in one week and rumours was spreading that he was battling skin cancer.

Michael Jackson had also won 197 major awards during his 45-year career.

Five of his solo studio albums are among the world's best-selling records: Off the Wall (1979), Thriller (1982), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991) and HIStory (1995).
His marriage life was also in a turmoil. He married Lisa Marie Presley in 1994, and divorced in 1996. Later that year, Jackson married Deborah Rowe, a former nurse for his dermatologist. They had two children together: Michael Joseph Jackson Jr, known as Prince Michael, now 12, and Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, 11. Rowe filed for divorce in 1999. He also had a third child, Prince Michael II. Now 7, Jackson (nicknamed Blanket) was his biological child born from a surrogate mother.

Thriller has remained the biggest selling album of all time with reported sales of 109 million.
Overall, Michael Jackson has sold more than 750 million records worldwide.
He has also been honoured by two American Presidents, Ronald Regan in 1984 and George Bush in 1990.
Life is short, I think all of us should learn to treasure what we have, you won't know what can happen tomorrow. Rest In Peace, Michael Jackson! We love you.

Miss Universe - Miss USA Falls Again!

Miss Universe 2008 crowned goes to " Miss Venezula", Dayana Mendoza. This 22 years old beauty queen beats runners-up from Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Russia and Mexico.

This time, Miss USA 2008, Crystle Stewart fell down on the stage during the Miss Universe 2008 in Vietnam. Last year, Miss USA 2007, Rachel Smith also fell down on the stage. Both lost their footing during the evening gown glamour. Although Miss USA 2008 fell down on the stage but at least she tried to mask her embarrassment and disppointment by standing up with a big smile and clapping her hands after the fall. I guessed her courage still deserve the audience a clap.

Meal for just $2.50

I was quite surprised to know that it is still possible to get a meal for just $2.50 and below in Singapore. Anyway, I think this is a good news and great information provided by CASE (Consumers Association Of Singapore). They ran price checks over a 2 week period last month on 388 non-air conditioned food stalls, 240 had dishes less than $2.50. Cheapest chicken rice in a foodcourt at Tampines Street 81 is only selling $1.30 (I thought this only happen in the 70s)

Here are information of some lowest price food stalls:

1) $2.30 Y.R.A Indian Muslim Food Specialist (Chicken Nasi Briyani)
Add: ABC Brickworks Market & Food Centre (Jln Bukit Merah)
2) $1.30 820 Hainanese Chicken Rice (Chicken Rice)
Add: 823A Foodpark Foodcourt, Tampines St 81
3) $2 Ming Noodle (Fishball noodles)
Add: Blk 271 Queen Street #01-090
4) $0.50 Hong Bin Eating House (Roti Prata)
Add: 158 Mei Ling Street
5) $2.30 Siang Ji Curry Mixed Vegetable Rice (Mixed Rice: 2 Veg +1 Meat)
Add: Hiap Hoe Eating House, Blk 724 Yishun St 72

Well, whether it is nice or not nice.. I am not too sure.. :)

China Earthquake Disaster in 2008

A 7.9 magnitute earthquake strucked China, northwest of Sichuan provincial capital Chengdu and killed nearly 15,000 people. This is one of the worst hit to China in 32 years, reducing many buildings to rubbles. Tears and screaming of families were heard all over the places, calling out to their loves one. Many were buried alive and yet to be found. China is definitely in shortage of tents, medicines, water etc...

My heart sank deeper as I was reading the newspaper. Not only it shut down all the power, telecommunication links and roads but also robbed away the happiness of many families. Many were now left homeless and feeling helpless.

What do they need the most? They need your help. As the rescue workers were trying hard to find survivors, I hope the public could also lend a helping hand with your kind contributions. Even if it is $1 or how much but at least something that we could help them to pull through.

Members of public who like to contribute towards this China Earthquake can make their donations to:
