I was strolling along East Coast Park yesterday and I saw people cable skiing. I watched those people turning and spinning their board. It was so cool with the stuns they performed. To avoid embarrassment, maybe i should try cable ski on the non peak hours? heehee..

Meal for just $2.50

I was quite surprised to know that it is still possible to get a meal for just $2.50 and below in Singapore. Anyway, I think this is a good news and great information provided by CASE (Consumers Association Of Singapore). They ran price checks over a 2 week period last month on 388 non-air conditioned food stalls, 240 had dishes less than $2.50. Cheapest chicken rice in a foodcourt at Tampines Street 81 is only selling $1.30 (I thought this only happen in the 70s)

Here are information of some lowest price food stalls:

1) $2.30 Y.R.A Indian Muslim Food Specialist (Chicken Nasi Briyani)
Add: ABC Brickworks Market & Food Centre (Jln Bukit Merah)
2) $1.30 820 Hainanese Chicken Rice (Chicken Rice)
Add: 823A Foodpark Foodcourt, Tampines St 81
3) $2 Ming Noodle (Fishball noodles)
Add: Blk 271 Queen Street #01-090
4) $0.50 Hong Bin Eating House (Roti Prata)
Add: 158 Mei Ling Street
5) $2.30 Siang Ji Curry Mixed Vegetable Rice (Mixed Rice: 2 Veg +1 Meat)
Add: Hiap Hoe Eating House, Blk 724 Yishun St 72

Well, whether it is nice or not nice.. I am not too sure.. :)

Cheap Cosmetic Online - www.bbcosme.com

I just happened to see their advertisement on newspaper today. They are actually an online shopping for cosmetics like your skincare, body and make-up. I was quite surprised that most of their cosmetics are priced at a lower rate as compared to the market. I guessed one of the reason is because they are using sample sizes instead of the the normal size.

Example:
Sample size: 20g per pc x 6pcs = 120g Cost = S$24.00
Normal size: 120g per pc x 1pc = 120g Cost = S$70.00

I was quite doubtful if the products are genuine because it was priced so cheap. Hence, I tried to get more reviews online. So far, the reviews are still quite acceptable, at least I know their company is not a scam and products were delivered. As their prices are so cheap, I was quite tempted to buy their SK-II treatment essence because mine is going to finish soon. Their SK-II Facial Treatment Essence (30ml x 5pcs = 150ml) is only selling at$95 which gave me a total savings of $57. Cheap right??

For those of you who are interested to know more about them may visit their website at http://www.bbcosme.com/. I also welcome all comments on this company too. :)

**Note: Please test the product on your hand to see if you have any allergic reaction before applying on your face.

Rochor Beancurd at Geylang

Rochor Beancurd is one of the best supper spot favourite by many night clubbers. It has been there for many years and many people go there because of their freshly made deep fried fritters (You Tiao) goes well with their smoothie Tou Hua. Most of the food are cheap and good. I have been patronizing them since secondary school days. However, one of the thing that I do not like geylang is parking problem.

BreadTalk Singapore

I am quite sure that almost everyone know or have tried Breadtalk. Why am I still talking about Breadtalk when it is commonly available? It was because of their promotion after 9.30pm. Breadtalk do not keep their breads until the next day as they believe in freshness and quality. I personally feel that for bakeries businesses to be successful, they have to provide ultimate freshness for their bread. Breads turn stiff and dry the next day, hence it will not taste as good as it supposed to be.

Name: BreadTalk Group Ltd
Address: Too many branches to be listed out.
Good Deals: Buy 5 Breads at $6 or Buy 10 Breads at $10 after 9.30pm

Buying 10 breads at one go maybe too much for many people and this is what I normally do, I would turn behind or ask the person standing infront of me if they want to pay together. If they are buying 5 breads, I would ask if they want to combine and pay together. Most of the people would be happy to say "YES". Why? Each of you would save $1 which means $2 in a total. Who doesn't want to benefit from cheap deals like this?

So, the next time when you buy breads from breadtalk after 9.30pm, try to ask the people who stand behind or infront of you. Hahaha...

Mouth Restaurant

Mouth Restaurant is being voted as one of the best and oldest teahouse in Singapore. I just went for their Hi-Tea Promotion as there was a 50% Discount on their Hi-Tea Alacarte. I would say they do not have much choices to choose from on their Hi-Tea Ala carte. Maybe it was because of their 50% discount, Mouth Restaurant was flooded with families. It would not be an ideal place to dine if you are looking a quiet atmosphere. That place was highly polluted with noise....

Name: Mouth Restaurant
Address
Chinatown Point
133 New Bridge Road
02-01
Telephone: 6534 4233

Toa Payoh Lorong 6
Safra Club
Telephone: 62598 891

Operating Hours for their Dim Sum: 10am -12pm / Hi-Tea : 3pm -5.30pm
Must Tries: Deep Fried banana with prawn, sharkfins dumpling (do not expect a lot of sharkfins inside, it was the clear broth that was nice), Xiao Long Tang Bao.
Rating: 3 stars for food, 1.5 stars for ambience (Too Noisy)

If you want to enjoy the 50% Discount on their dim sum, just retain the original coupon found inside your citibank june's credit card statement. Minimum 4 pax to 10 pax. Offer is only valid till 7 July 2008. Mine was an online statement so I actually printed out the coupon in colour and managed to get a 50% discount at the Chinatown point outlet. I am not sure if they are very particular on the "Original Coupon" to enjoy the offer. Anyway, I was trying my luck the other day. :)

Mapo Doufu Restaurant 麻婆豆腐饭庄 (Thomson)

This is my 3rd time to Mapo Doufu Restaurant 麻婆豆腐饭庄 at Thomson. One of the reason I go back there is because of their deep fried pumpkin. In terms of comparing them to those steamboat in Marina Square, it is far much more better. They serve out the food through the alacarte menu and you can have unlimited orders hence it is definitely cleaner than those steamboats which you paid about $12 per head. Some of my friends actually like their appetizer as they serve pig ears, sweet and sour cucumber. If I don't remember wrongly, they have more than 60 dishes for you to choose ranging from seafood, meat and vegetables. If you eat beef, you would definitely like their thin slice beef where you enjoy the dipping into their Mala Soup. As expected, some of the food they served are not fresh enough but overall most of the food are still acceptable. Paying $20/pax for the varieties and cleanliness, I think it is still worth it.

Rating: 3.5 stars for food, 2.5 stars for ambience (a bit too noisy)

Have you tried Fish Spa?

You may have tried foot spa or body spa but how about "fish spa"? Fish Spa is also known as Fish Therapy. This is a craze that is going on in Singapore right now. These fishes are actually tiny toothless turkish spa fish (doctor fish), of the Garra rufa species, nibble off the dead skin on your hands and feet, leaving healthy skin to grow. I think it will be kind of ticklish for the fishes to nibble on your feet or hands. I just start to ponder if they allow me to immerse my whole body into the fish tub? hahaha

Here are some of the places for you to try FISH THERAPY... Have Fun with the fishes!

Newton Food Centre

It has been a while since I went to Newton Food Centre. Everything was better and cleaner after renovation. I just had their famous soupy prawn mee noodles. The soup base still taste so GOOD! Yummy! Is Newton Food Centre considered a tourist trap or a nice food haunt? Well, I think it is more of a place with nice food around. Although there are times when tourist were charged higher prices for their food. I think this will happen in every countries. Even when Singaporeans go batam or JB for seafood, they were also charged higher than the locals. As for tourists, you just have to take note of the prices charged when you take order. It is best that you order personally at their stalls so that you can see the price list. I also realised the hawkers were quite agressive the moment you sat down. You do not even need to move your butt as they will come and ask you if want to order any food.

So, do you have any "hot favourite" in Newton Food Centre?

Singapore Flyer

Since the launch of this observation wheel, I have always been finding a chance to "Fly high" on Singapore Flyer. Singapore Flyer is the world's largest observation wheel and is standing at a stunning 165m from the ground. It is also set to be asia's biggest tourist attractions. You can get to enjoy visual 360˚ feast of iconic and historical landmarks from the Marina Bay to the Singapore River, Raffles Place, Merlion Park, Empress Place and the Padang. One thing I like about them the best is their Private Capsule where it would be perfect to hold your wedding solemnization there.

Perhaps, I shall let myself "Fly High" one of these days.

Cafe Brio's at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel

This is my second time to Cafe Brio's. The first time I went was on a weekday and it was quite sometime back with a Buy 1 Get 1 Free Promotion. This time round the spread was slightly different and perhaps it was because due to saturday and the price we are paying was also different because the Buy 1 Get 1 Free promotion was over. Anyway, all of us enjoyed the buffet spread. It was a combination of western, japanese and chinese food. The favourite among the guests were Oysters, Scallops, Soft Shell crabs, Squid, BBQ Giant Prawns, Steaks, Sushis and many more. As I am not a fan of Oysters, I ate the prawns and crabs.... Yummy... they were very fresh. Cakes was one of my hot favourite.
